  • The markets remained rangebound throughout the day and closed flat. Metal, capital goods, realty and banking were the lead gainers in today's session while FMCG, consumer durables, healthcare and oil & gas closed with moderate declines. The Sensex closed at 16218, down 4 points from its previous close, and the Nifty shut shop at 4920, down 1 point.

  • The top Nifty gainers today were GAIL, JP Associates, Tata Steel and Cairn India while the biggest losers included Jindal Steel, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra and Bank of Baroda.

  • Breaking the trends of the past few weeks, the markets closed positive during the week with banking and capital goods leading the rally. The Sensex was up 0.3% and Nifty gained 0.5% over the week. The CNX Midcap index was up 0.6%, BSE Smallcap gained 1% while the Bank Nifty closed with 1.4% gain.

  • Buy Nifty May Futures at 4900 with a target of 4980 and stop loss of 4870, says Sandeep Wagle of Aptart India on ET Now.

  • Sell Nifty May Futures with a 2-3 days target of 4830 and stop loss of 4935, says Mohit Gaba, technical analyst, on CNBC Awaaz.
