  • The markets closed with significant gains today with all sectoral indices closing positive. Capital goods, realty, banking and power were the lead gainers in today's session and metal and IT, too, closed with significant gains. The Sensex closed at 17602, up 285 points from its previous close, and the Nifty shut shop at 5365, up 90 points.

  • The top Nifty gainers today were JP Associates, Reliance Infra, Ranbaxy and Axis Bank while the biggest losers included Cairn India, Hindalco, Sun Pharma and ONGC.

  • The market is looking positive and as the Nifty has gone above 5326 it could move up to 5380-5440, says Dharmesh Shah of ICICI Direct on Zee Business.

  • The market is likely to stay within a range for the next two days before we see a meaningful break on the upside, says Sarvendra Srivastav, independent market analyst, on NDTV Profit. He sees the Nifty moving between 5160 and 5340 with support at 5150.
